The research comes first. The label comes second.

Most supplements are designed backwards — pick an appealing ingredient list, then work out how little of each you can get away with. Here is how we do it in the other order, and how you can check that we did.

First principles

Four decisions that shape every formula

Everything else — the packaging, the price, the marketing — follows from these. Get them wrong and no amount of design fixes the bottle.

  • Clinically studied doses

    We start from the amount used in the published literature and formulate to it. A dose that only exists to appear on the label isn’t worth the capsule space.

  • Bioavailable forms

    The form of a nutrient decides how much of it you actually absorb. We pay for chelates, methylated B vitamins and D3 over the cheap alternatives.

  • Full disclosure

    No proprietary blends. Every active ingredient appears with its exact amount, so you can compare our formulas to the research — or to anyone else’s.

  • Independently verified

    Every production run is tested by a third-party lab for identity, potency, heavy metals and microbials, and the certificate is published.

The process

How a gram formula gets made

Five steps, always in this order. The order is the whole point — pick the ingredients last and you end up with a marketing document.

  1. Read the literature

    We start with what has actually been studied in humans, at what dose, for how long, and in whom. Promising mechanisms in a petri dish do not make the list.

  2. Set the dose first

    The studied dose becomes a constraint, not a target to approach. If it won’t fit the serving size alongside everything else, something gets cut — usually the ingredient with the thinnest evidence.

  3. Choose the form

    Then we pick the specific salt, chelate or isomer with the best absorption data. This is where most of the cost difference between us and a supermarket bottle lives.

  4. Source and audit

    Raw materials come from suppliers we’ve audited, with documentation for identity and standardisation. Manufacturing happens in a cGMP-registered facility.

  5. Test, then publish

    Each finished batch goes to an independent lab. We publish the certificate of analysis, including the batch number printed on your bottle.

Ingredient forms

Absorption and tolerability differences are well described for these forms in the published literature. They describe how much of a nutrient reaches you — not what it will do once it gets there.

Numbers you can check against the research

These are typical per-serving amounts across the gram range. They aren’t impressive because they’re large — they’re there because they match what the published human research actually used.

Compare them to any bottle in your cupboard. If a label puts the interesting ingredient inside a blend and won’t tell you the amount, that’s the answer to how much is in there.

Supplements are lightly regulated. That puts the burden of proof on the brand — so here is ours, in the order it happens.

    Manufacturing happens under Current Good Manufacturing Practice, with batch records for every run and an audit trail from raw material to bottle.

  • Identity and potency

    An independent lab confirms each ingredient is what the supplier said it was, at the amount printed on the label — not at the amount we hoped for.

  • Heavy metals and microbials

    Every batch is screened for lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury, plus microbial contamination, against published specification limits.

  • A certificate per batch

    Results are published against the batch number on your bottle. If you can’t look up the test, the test may as well not have happened.

What we won’t claim

Supplements are not medicine, and the honest version of this page has limits in it.

  • We don’t say any gram formula treats, prevents or cures anything. It doesn’t, and neither does anyone else’s.
  • We describe what ingredients support in normal, healthy function — not what they fix.
  • Where the evidence is genuinely mixed, we say “mixed” rather than picking the one flattering study.
  • Our percentages come from customer surveys and are labelled as such. They are self-reported experiences, not clinical findings.
  • If your doctor tells you something here doesn’t apply to you, your doctor is the one who has seen your bloodwork.

The questions a sceptic asks

What does “clinically studied dose” actually mean?
That the amount in a serving matches the amount used in published human research on that ingredient — not a fraction of it. It’s a statement about the dose, not a promise about your result.
Why do you avoid proprietary blends?
A proprietary blend lists ingredients in order of weight but hides how much of each is present. That lets a formula lead with an expensive-sounding ingredient it contains almost none of. If a blend is disclosed properly, it isn’t proprietary any more — which tells you what it was for.
Is a more expensive ingredient form always better?
No. It’s better when absorption or tolerability data supports it, which is true for the forms on this page and not true for plenty of others. We pay for the difference where it’s demonstrable and skip it where it isn’t.
Where can I see the third-party test results?
Each batch has a certificate of analysis tied to the batch number printed on your bottle. Email us that number and we’ll send the certificate for your specific run.
Do you run your own clinical trials?
No, and we’d be sceptical of a supplement brand that claimed to. We formulate from independent published research on individual ingredients and are explicit that this is what we’re doing.
How long before I notice anything?
It depends entirely on the formula and on you. Some effects show up in days, some are only visible in bloodwork over months, and some people notice nothing at all. That’s why the guarantee runs sixty days — long enough to form an honest opinion.
